Nope, I didn’t get the headline backwards. For years I’ve heard just the opposite. While some employees (14%) cite the boss as the main reason, most have other reasons for leaving.

Another key finding is that if you want your best employees to stick around, you’ll need to provide them with positive work experiences and find ways to engage them. While that may seem obvious, I don’t run across many managers who have well-designed strategies for doing either.
