I’ve done my fair share of research and opinion gathering about what qualities define a leader. It’s rare that courage gets a mention.
That’s why I was so interested to learn that Korn Ferry, in an analysis of assessment data from 1,100 professionals, concluded that high-level executives are nearly 2.5 times more likely to have increased levels of courage than mid-level leaders.
If courage is the secret ingredient, the obvious next question is how to develop it in your leaders. The article offers a couple ideas, although I believe there’s plenty of room for innovation here.
