As a trainer, the Kirkpatrick Training Evaluation Model is near and dear to my heart. For those unfamiliar with it, the models suggests that training should be evaluated on four levels:
- Reaction: Did the participants like it?
- Learning: Did the participants learn what they were supposed to?
- Behavior: Did the participants change their behaviors?
- Results: Did the training create the results you wanted?
The model has been slightly updated. I’m excited for the additions of commitment and confidence under the learning level. I’ve always believed those were two important goals in the sessions I lead.
